Some information about specific ministries of our church...
Nursery and Preschool Christian instruction and care is provided during worship services
and church functions for children from birth to age 5.
Children Sunday School classes are provided for children in grades 1 through 5. The classes use the Lifeway children's curriculum. AWANA club activities for children age
3 through grade 5 are held each Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. during the school year. This includes Bible
study, memorization, fun and games. (Affiliated with AWANA

Youth The youth group is made up of Middle School and High School students representing various schools. They meet each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for Bible Study and also have a Wednesday evening sharing and devotion time at 6:30 p.m. Various social activities are planned throughout the year. During each summer the youth participate in a Mission trip, and in 2008 they went to Charleston, West Virginia and worked on service projects with the World Changers organization. Adult Classes Adult Sunday School classes meet from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. There are several classes to choose from and most have a very divergent composition. On Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. there is an adult class which consists of one of the following: Bible study, film series, or topical study. Child care is available during this time. There are several small group Bible studies in homes. If you are interested in joining one please call the church office at 713-559-6875. Music The adult choir presents music for Sunday worship and special events. Choir practice is on Wednesdays 7:45 to 9:00 p.m. The choir uses a variety of music styles including anthems, hymns, choruses, and praise somgs. plays for worship services and special events. The rehearsals are scheduled as needed. John Lott also directs the orchestra. Children's Music Classes Joy Program Our church has had a long-standing ministry to Internationals who come to Houston to attend school or to work in the Medical Center. They meet every Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 12:00 and the schedule includes English Classes, crafts or handbell activities, and a Bible Study for those who choose to participate. Child care is provided during these hours. During the year several special luncheons or other activities are planned. |
